I'm joining Christina over at the New Mrs. , for Own It, a time where the big, bad and ugly come out: it's confession time.
I love looking at houses that I could never own
Kyle is the first man I ever dated with a beard. He's also the first one one I've dated with tattoos. Four in fact. (While I've wanted a tattoo since I was 19, he was a big motivator for me to get my own tattoo ). Even with the beard and the tattoos, I knew when we met he was the one that I was going to marry and take a million selfies with.
When I first got engaged, I spent long periods looking at my ring... #vain. And then when I got married, I spent even longer periods admiring my ring and saying Mrs. Joiner #needtogetalife. I also practiced my new signature a thousand times the day before (this is totally
I'm incredibly gullible. Kyle convinced me that el quacko was the Spanish word for duck. It's pato. It's a running joke in my family on how gullible I can be
We didn't throw Sophie a birthday party for her first birthday, because we didn't see the point of it and now I feel incredibly guilty for not doing so, so we're probably going to go nuts for her second birthday.
I have both dyslexia and dysgraphia , What does this mean? Well for me, I usually can't sound out words at all. If I haven't seen it yet, you better believe I won't be spelling it correctly. It's also why i have atrocious spelling skills (I memorized the spelling of many words as a kid without knowing how to pronounce the word, thank you Merriam Webster). Funny thing is, no one even connected the dots until I was in college.
I hate saying goodbye, I always say I'll see you. And I'm horrible at ending things as well. They just kind of end, like this post.
i know plenty of people, including the youngest i take care of, that didn't have a 1st bday! no worries ;)
Reply DeleteThis was just precious!
Reply Deletemy husband has dyslexia & its a struggle...
Reply DeleteAhh - who remembers their 1st birthday party anyways? Print pictures from Pinterest & tell her that was her party when she grows up :) haha
Goodbyes are no fun at all. I always say see you later too. Haha marriage = selfies. Love it!
Reply DeleteHaha yes, I think it's the one thing that I can get away with now that I am married, selfies forever.
DeleteI practiced my new signature when we were engaged too so you're not alone there!! xo, baina - BlovedBoston
Reply DeleteLove these!!! I love your comments on staring at your engagement ring - I did that too!!! I prefer "excited" to "vain" haha! And with my first I did a lavish first birthday, had 50 people over, it was fun for the adults but she was overwhelmed and clung to me the whole time. For my second, we had just our little family at home and I bought a cake at the store and I felt super guilty but it was way more fun. Don't feel bad!
Reply DeleteThe first birthday party is always for the parents never for the kid. So don't worry about it!
Reply DeleteI like to say I'll see you later too. I also like to say nice seeing you instead of nice meeting you even if I've never met someone before.
I looked at my ring a lot in the beginning too. Heck, I still do!!!!!
Reply DeleteNothing wrong with checking out your ring. :)
Reply DeleteThis is such a fun list! I can't wait to get engaged and change my name and signature :) Love your tattoo too and the meaning behind it!
Reply DeleteI had a lot of fun changing my name (it was easy for me), but I did have to accept the fact that I dropped a few letters in the alphabet. that was tough, haha. thanks, I love my tattoo! I may get another one, just haven't decided placement.
DeleteI've never dated a guy with a beard until the guy I'm currently seeing... Never thought I would, and yet here I am. :) You guys are so cute- I can't say that enough!

Don't feel bad at all about not having a 1st birthday party. Xavier was sick for over a week for his 2nd, so cancelled it entirely and moved on. He had no clue! And by his 3rd birthday I learned to keep things cheap and low key...it means more money towards the toys or whatever they want that will be there longer than the cake or decor :) Good luck! And thanks for linking up!
Reply DeleteMichael has some dyslexia too. He mixes up 'c' and 's' a lot when trying to spell words. Michael and I also love looking at houses we can't buy. But, we look at ones that would be realistic once we finally save up the down payment...so we're basically just torturing ourselves falling in love with these actually someday realistic houses and realizing that they most likely won't be for sale when we can buy!
Reply DeleteI could search houses endlessly for h o u r s!! It never gets old. Thanks for linking up :)
Reply DeleteI spent a ton of time staring at my ring too! I mean, I think it's abnormal not to!
