gender reveal - Sophie!

And the answer we've all been waiting for!

A girl.

That's right, Kyle and I have having a baby girl this upcoming January.  So, world be prepared to meet Sophie.  Sophie after my great grandma's name and Marie because it's the middle name I would have loved to have.  She's healthy and was very active during the ultra sound.  Kyle and I've heard Sophie's heartbeat since 8 weeks - but seeing her?  We can't even describe how amazing it was to see her on the screen.  No words can really describe the feeling.  You really have to have been in that position to know what it feels like.  She's grown so much since the first ultrasound - she looks like a little human being!  From the size of a little coffee bean to the length of a banana.  And get this, she has 7 million eggs just hanging out in her uterus.  Like who needs that many eggs?  We only get a couple of ultrasounds for the entire pregnancy.  So I definitely cherish the ones we get.

We had been talking all week about seeing her.  Even though Kyle was convinced it was going to be a boy because I kept calling her she.  But mother's intuition is always right and it was a girl.  This does mean that this is the very first and probably only girl in his direct family.  His mother had all boys (3). His sister in law had 2.  And his other brother has mentioned not really wanting kids. So we have the first and most likely only girl in the family.

I wanted a boy so badly at first.  However, as we got closer to the ultrasound, my wants moved more from a boy to a girl.  I felt like I could relate to a girl more than a boy.  But mostly, I wanted a healthy baby :)
