twenty-eight weeks - third trimester

How far along? 28 weeks!!  Hello third trimester, in the final one.
Total weight gain/loss: 20lbs
Maternity clothes? I did end up getting a couple of maternity cardigans so that they can go over my belly on the colder days, but for the most part just living in dresses and skirts, so much more comfortable than pants now.  I also got a couple more maternity shirts.
Stretch marks? Not like I'm looking for them but I'm sure they will pop up soon, I'm a small person and this baby is making me huge and of course genetics plays a major part in it.
Sleep: I'm trying to get into the routine of going to bed early and rising early in preparation for my new job!
Best moment this week: First, I will start my big girl job Monday!  Second, I think I've been feeling Sophie hiccup for the past couple of days!
Worst moment this week: I found out I failed my first GD test, and will need to take the three hour one tomorrow.
Have you told family and friends: I was told the other day by a friend, what I was doing?  I said "Walking," and his response?  "That ain't walking, that's waddling."
Miss Anything? I want a nice big cup of Hazelnut coffee, and no 6-8 oz is going to cut it, I need like a 32 oz cup.  Or a huge vat of hot chocolate, it's getting to be hot chocolate time!
Movement: I think she's been hiccuping in there or acting like she's in WWF Raw or something as ridiculous in the morning nowadays.
Food cravings: Hot Chocolate, like some real bonafide hot chocolate.
Anything making you queasy or sick: It goes in and out, now that I'm reaching the third trimester, some of my first trimester bothers are coming back.
Have you started to show yet: Kyle told me that I look really pregnant, and that I've been waddling for awhile now.
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: Nope.
Symptoms: The pesky need to pee every five seconds has come back with a vengeance and slowly starting to feel really uncomfortable and fat.  I'm also starting to get more tired often now.  Some days all I want to do is sleep.
Belly Button in or out? Its fighting to become an outtie, it kind of looks like it doesn't know what it wants to do really.
Rings on or off? On, but I noticed yesterday they are starting to swell really bad, sausage fingers here we come :(
Happy or Moody most of the time: For the most part, happy - except when I look in a mirror.
Looking forward to: Halloween!  It's tomorrow.  I hope some kids come to get some candy, otherwise I'll have this candy that I don't need in my fridge.

global wildlife center

The weather this week has been beautiful.  It kind of makes me forget where I live.  It kind of rained a bit on Monday night, but since then the weather has been beautiful.  And because of this lovely weather, Kyle and I went to the Global Wildlife Center .

I've been begging him to go since my before my birthday.  Poor man.  Only problem is with our schedules we've been so busy that we just haven't had time to actually take the ride up there.  It didn't help that the weather has been awful on the days I wanted to go.  But finally beautiful weather, Kyle had a free day, and we were off and it will probably be the last trip we make before Sophie arrives.

The last time I remember going to the wildlife center was when I was a kid.  The one thing I remember the most is that one of the animals ate all of the feed out of my cup because I couldn't pull the cup out from under their mouths.  What a let down.  However, it's been so long since that day I don't really remember much of it.

Despite the hour and half drive (since I missed an exit making it longer), it was well worth it.  Seeing the animals was so much fun.  Quite a few of them came up and hung out by the wagon looking for food.  Before we even got onto the wagon, and when maintenance began blowing out all of the excess food out of the wagon, tons of deer began walking up towards the wagon knowing that food was going to be on the ground.  The deer pretty much followed us the entire way.

I think my favorite animals were the giraffes and the llamas.  With both of them, you could actually hand feed them.  The llamas were really funny just walking alongside the wagon dashing between the people to get more feed.  They were not shy about wanting to eat the feed at all.  Several times Kyle and I just hand fed them.  It was so much fun, just having them eat out of our hands.  It was more fun than feeding a dog.

Didn't get any good pictures of me feeding animals.  Kyle is terrible at taking photos, he's fired from taking pictures from now on.

The one animal that took awhile to actually come up was the giraffe.  We had to make an actual stop so that they could come up and check out the wagon.  It took them some time before they came up, but once they realized we had feed, they were all swarming the wagon.  One thing about the giraffes?  They'll eat out of your hand, but if they see you have a cup, they just stick their mouths in the cup.  They like eating out of the cup more than your hand because of the fact that the cup has more feed than your hand.  Which is exactly what happened today with one of the giraffes because I was so determined to get a picture with the freaking giraffe.  And I looked higher than a baboon, so what a waste.

With all of the other animals we just had to throw the feed onto the ground so that they could graze at it.  Seriously though, we saw so many different animals I can't remember all of them.  There were ducks, deer, beefalo (combination of angus beef and bison), cows, bulls, bisons, giraffes, llamas, alpaca, zebra, turtles, kangaroos, just lots of different animals.  And they were all really active, coming up to the wagon looking for the feed. Kyle had a blast.  I even got to see kangaroos and one had a joey in her pouch.  He was just hanging out having fun.

We ended the day by going to a Chinese buffet, despite me bringing thousands of snacks, I was starving at the end.  Even with the hour and half drive and the mishaps I had from not taking the exit. I have to say it was a really good day, and probably one of the last real days to have fun we'll have before I start my new job and Sophie's born.

twenty-seven weeks

Can you tell mama's tired?
How far along? 27 weeks - my nurse reminded me that I still have 3 months to go (thanks)
Total weight gain/loss: 20+ lbs.
Maternity clothes? Got a couple of new dresses and skirts and I'm living in them, so much nicer to not have so much restriction as my belly gets larger and larger.  Although, with winter coming up, I may have to re-think my wardrobe again.
Stretch marks? So far, I don't think so, but it's not like I can see everything with a huge stomach in the way!
Sleep: Woke up feeling like a zombie, but it may have been that I had to get up at the crack of dawn two days in a row.
Best moment this week: Only one more week and I'm in my third trimester.
Have you told family and friends: Kinda don't have too.  It's obvious to the point I don't have to go hiding my belly.
Miss Anything? Being able to fit into certain clothes, like skinny jeans.  It's getting to really be fall, and soon winter, and I miss the whole skinny jeans and boots things.  Oh well, next year definitely.
Movement: Enough to the point where she kicks Kyle. Her favorite thing to do is to move so that she moves my entire stomach up when I'm sitting down.  Or wait until Kyle has his arm around me and than proceed to beat his arm up through my stomach, thanks Sophie.  No cuddling for mommy and daddy.
Food cravings: Honey Nut Cheerios.
Anything making you queasy or sick: The glucose drink is making me feel sick to my stomach.
Have you started to show yet: Yes, but many people like to argue with me on how far along I really am.
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: Nope.
Symptoms: I feel like a beached whale.  Not only that but I can tell that I'm nearing the third trimester.  I also have been feeling some stomach pain from moving too quickly.  Oh, and breathing, there are days I swear I can't get enough air.
Belly Button in or out? Kyle said that the bottom half of my belly button wants to come out.
Rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: For the most part, happy.
Looking forward to: Entering the third trimester!

Side note: Today I had to take the Glucose Tolerance test to see if I have the markers for Gestational Diabetes.  My doctor allowed me to take it home so that I could drink it 30 minutes before the appointment.  Worked out well.  The test itself was not bad at all.  I had heard horror stories about how nasty it tasted and how bad it was.  For me, it literally tasted like a Sunkist, which I loved as a kid, so maybe that's why it wasn't that bad.  Although it made my stomach hurt after drinking it.

I find out in a couple of days whether I "passed" or "failed" the test.  Since there really isn't oh you passed the test, it just means you don't have the markers for GD.  However, if I "fail" that means that I'll have to take a 3 hour test.  If I "fail" the second test than it means I'll have to have a special diet to help ensure my baby doesn't grow to epic proportions.

Another thing is as much as I've tried to watch my weight gain, I seem to be packing on the lbs like nobody's business.  Even though I've been watching what I've been eating a lot more carefully.  I also have three major holidays coming up -->  Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas and girl scout cookies are coming out soon.  My doctor never complains about my weight ever.  she's always saying it's good, but my nurse is another story.  Almost every other visit like clockwork, she'll mention something about how I've been gaining too much.  Although in my defense, I always weigh 2lbs heavier in the doctor's office than I do at home.  Kind of makes me feel like a fat ass.  Or as Kyle says "a pregnant lady."

Sophie's clothes

Ran out of hangers, and we bought 40 today.......
So far, most of Sophie's wardrobe is easily 60% sleep n plays.  I get the feeling she'll be in sleep n plays for like the first 6 months of her life I have so many.  Can't wait to dress her up in them.

Most of the items pictured were either bargain deals, or hand me downs.  The clothes to the far left, are the ones that I've actually purchased.  Since she'll be a winter baby, most of the wardrobe is meant to stay warm, but I have gone crazy buying some summer wear as well.

Here are some of my favorites.

twenty-six weeks

this is easily the beginning of where I felt I legit look pregnant.

How far along? 26 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: up 17 lbs.  (haven't actually gone to the doctor's yet, to get the "official" weight.)
Maternity clothes? Dresses, skirts, pants, shorts, shirts, basically my whole wardrobe, haha.
Stretch marks? So far, I've been very lucky to no have any.
Sleep: In and out.  I swear, some nights I get great sleep, others, not so much.
Best moment this week: Realizing we have less than 100 days!
Have you told family and friends: Yes, it's gotten obvious to close friends. But many people still tell me that I still don't look pregnant, so I guess I look like a fat ass?  One person even called me a skinny bitch.
Miss Anything? Eating whatever the heck I want, because I could run it off.  I have to watch what I eat much more than I used to before I was pregnant.
Movement: Lots of movement, sometimes I think she likes to kick box in there.
Food cravings: Honey Nut Cheerios.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Eating too much, my stomach must have shrunk to 1/4 of its size!  I can barely eat without feeling full and sick.
Have you started to show yet: Depending on the day, I swear I look like I'm either huge or tiny.  Kyle finds it funny and annoying when I'm constantly complaining about how my stomach looks like.  Although today, he came up to me and told me I look really pregnant.
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: Let's hope those don't happen until I'm at least full term.
Symptoms: I feel so large, and just moving around is getting hard, and I'm not even in my third trimester!
Belly Button in or out? It's struggling to become an out.
Rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: For the most part, happy.
Looking forward to: Entering the third trimester!

Crazy story of the week:  I had a woman argue with me on how far along I was.  She didn't believe that I was 6 months pregnant.  According to her, I was too small to be so far along.  If anything, I feel huge!  My waist has gotten enormous to what it used to be.  It baffles me on how someone can argue with me on how big and small I look or how far along I am.  What the heck?  I've been there the entire time, not you.

twenty-five weeks

Movement: She's more active now.
Food cravings: Cake.
Anything making you queasy or sick: When I eat too much.
Have you started to show yet: Getting bigger and bigger.
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: Let's hope those don't happen until I'm at least full term.
Symptoms: Starting to have trouble breathing occassionally.  I think it has to do with what position she's in.
Belly Button in or out? It's becoming more shallow.
Rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Up in the air, depends on the day.
Looking forward to: giving birth haha, I miss running.

twenty-four weeks

How far along? 24 weeks, 3 days.
Total weight gain/loss: 18 lbs, official doctor's visit weight.  My nurse has always had an issue with my weight, constantly telling me I'm gaining too much or too little.  She said 5 lbs is excessive…seeing as the appointment was the day after my birthday, I kind of indulged on my birthday, oh well.  The doctor didn't seem to mind my weight gain at all.
Maternity clothes? Shirts and pants, I've gotten huge.
Stretch marks? So far none.
Sleep: Terrible, I'm lucky if I'm not crabby in the morning.
Best moment this week: This week was a tough one, lots of emotional drama.
Have you told family and friends: Practically the whole world knows now.
Miss Anything? Eating any type of sushi.
Movement: Sophie's been kicking up a storm.
Food cravings: Candy like crazy.  all I want to do is eat candy all day.
Anything making you queasy or sick: When I eat too much.
Have you started to show yet: I'm still kind of small, but larger than I was.
Gender: Girl
Labor Signs: Thank god no.
Symptoms: My back hurts a lot nowadays, no matter what I'm doing.
Belly Button in or out? Still in, but getting to the point where my finger can barely fit in it anymore.
Rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: All over the place.
Looking forward to: Next weeks appointment.
