I started my weekend off with some really nice belated Mother's Day gifts from my MIL, a dress, tote, sweater, scarf and a floppy hat, all ready for the beach attire.
Lately, every Saturday Sophie and I go for a walk around the neighborhood looking at all of the pretty houses. And by Sophie and I, I mean I go for the walk, she sits in the stroller. If you're just coming onto this blog now, then you won't know that Saturday is my day with Sophie, just the two of us ( mama and mini ) and Sunday is our family day.
So, of course, this Saturday was no different. We went for a walk, and this time we took a different route, so we got to see some new houses, and let me tell you, these houses were gorgeous and made my 1400 sq ft house look like a cardboard box. I had mentioned on Friday that Sophie was suffering with her teeth issues, well it was no different on Saturday. She was fine in the morning, but the afternoon all hell broke loose. She only got a one hour nap, and refused to try to take another one but she was clearly tired.
But what made her happy was going outside in her crocs. These are the pair that she has, but I'm thinking of getting them for her, because it's the only pair of shoes that fit her well. She grows out of her shoes so quickly that we can barely keep up.
Kyle and I had a great Saturday evening together cooking with Sophie and eventually just sitting down and watching some bones together. If you don't follow Bones, then I won't really talk about the episode from last week, but if you do, Kyle and I were incredibly shocked by the ending.
I spent the morning of Sunday running with a pal, we were supposed to run 8.5 miles as his app told him (since he's preparing for a half marathon), unfortunately we pooped out at 6.2 miles (a 10K). But because of that and the additional walking I did later in the day, I got 20K steps for the day. Killed it Sunday. And no, the calories burned isn't a big focus of mine, it's getting exercise and getting moving.
Kyle and I spent the rest of Sunday going to the store, and of course getting starbucks (sorry, not sorry). We ended our weekend with finishing X-Men Days of the Future Past, and some pizza. All in all, I'm sad to say it's over.
And to end the post, has anyone seen the new Taylor Swift video "
Bad Blood
*" Don't worry, I didn't even know of the song until I kept see her Bad Blood cast pictures on her instagram for about 10 days. After the hype she made about it with the thousands (not really) of big stars she was going to have, I thought it was okay. I think the music itself Apparently it's touching upon her feud with Katy Perry (they have a feud?) shows where I've been.
*she hasn't released it to youtube, so it's a forever link to the video.
