happy father's day

Happy father's day to my wonderful husband!

In typical Joiner fashion we kept it simple andddd stayed at home.  We also did have the first outing as a married couple the previous night anyway - a wedding .  Isn't that exciting?

Kyle had to work today anyway, so we didn't want to get too crazy.  Although he remarked earlier this week that every day was like Father's day to him because of how much time he spends with Sophie.
And of course, we remember this precious photo ?

I kid you not, I cannot make up how adorable these two are.  They are my world.  They are my life line.  And I don't know what I would do without them, although little miss ruined parts of mommy's computer so that will have to be fixed...

sundays with sophie

I think I finally know why I love Sundays so much now.  Maybe it's obvious to others, but it took me a while to realize why I love them so much.  I get to see how Kyle and Sophie interact in the morning, how much she just loves being the center of attention, all of the crazy ways she gets his attention.  For me every single day of the week is just go, go, go.  And yesterday it was go, go, go, but on Sunday?  It's kind of become our unofficial day of just chilling out.  No joke, if Kyle didn't work, we would just veg out all day.  It has also become our unofficial Starbucks day.  I think for the past several weekends in a row, one of us has gotten Starbucks.

It's really on the weekends that I see how she acts in the morning.  Most mornings before I go to work I find her on her stomach passed out, but on the weekends  I find her laying on her stomach but with her head up looking around waiting for someone to come pick her up out of her crib.

Every morning that I take care of her, she gets so excited to see me and literally squeals in delight as I pick her up.  She's at the point now, where she works with me, so she lifts her legs and her arms so that she can hold on tight as I move around with her.  Before she just to be just dead weight.  She would refuse to help and just let us me struggle.

She's so curious too.  She has to figure things out.  Like how to open things, or rolling things around, or just really getting to know her world.  but Sunday is the one day that Kyle and I make the effort to have family time.  I listen to her babble on and on telling Kyle things or trying to get him to get up and listen to her.  She's not talking yet, but she makes noises that definitely sound like talking.

It's watching them interact together.  She's already become such a daddy's girl.  He's her hero, her favorite person, the man that she will use for any and all future boyfriends.  He's her father, the man that I fell in love with, and the man she will look up to for the rest of her life.

sundays with sophie

Today was a lazy day, we seriously just vegged out all day.  Kyle and I woke up kind of late at 8am when Sophie presented us with a very nasty poopy diaper.  She normally wakes up earlier for 7am, or for later 9am.  Kyle took the honors and changed her.  And then got starbucks coffee because Sophie was not in the mood to go back to sleep and we were still really tired from the sleep we didn't get last night.  It also didn't help that it rained all night, and was raining this morning so it just was a gloomy morning.

She also is starting to get interested in these things that we carry in our hands all of the time.  I'm not going to lie I'm terrible at not putting my phone down, it's more because I want to get as many photos of her as I can, I have nearly 3,000 photos of just her on my phone....(that sounds terrible reading it on here).

Later in the day when the sun came out, I actually went for a run, which nearly killed me since I haven't run for like a month and a half.  But I felt proud of myself after the fact for making it.

Baby girl is getting into the stage where she loves to:
1. throw tantrums.  Usually it's when Kyle is asleep and not paying attention to her so she cries to get his attention (not real crying, just the crocodile tears) and she gets very upset if he doesn't awaken immediately.  On the weekends I get her in the morning because he's worked late the night before.
2. attempt to crawl.  Or whatever we think it is.  Any day now.
3. chew on everything!!!  She'll try to get her hands on anything to stick it in her mouth, lately though she's loved just chomping down on her Sophie giraffe.
4. watch us eat with great interest.  She used to love to laugh whenever we would eat now she just stares.  It's a little creepy.  Actually it's a lot creepy.  Especially since I think if she could, she would just up and grab it out of our hands to eat it herself.  No joke.
5. she's really into nuzzling items, my pants, Kyle's shirts, just everything, it's like she thinks she's a cat and wants to mark it with her scent.

Or she just does this:
