10 months

We have rolled into November people, the year is almost over.

Nearly 10 months old, Sophie is well on to her way of becoming a rockstar.  She's also rocking this sweater like nobody's business.  I should also mention this is a toddler sized sweater.

loves: doing laundry, that's actually a joke, she just loves digging through the laundry basket and throwing the clothes out.
new developments:
1. Occassionally when she's feeling bold, little miss talks a few steps, but usually she falls down, she's still learning to walk.
2. Her teeth still haven't cut, but according to Kyle they're really close this time (like he said last month...)

our Halloween weekend

this past weekend was Halloween weekend.  While it was Sophie's first Halloween, it was a very breezy night, and her nap time was right around when we would have gone around to houses asking for candy, so we skipped this year and plan on taking her out for next year. I have posted her outfit on this blog a few times, but if you haven't seen it, you can see it here or

excuse the mess (this was taken two months ago) when I found it in the boxes of her stuff.  Hopefully she'll still fit into it next year.

Friday:
We spent Friday at a friend's party, which was essentially watching a movie and dancing to just dance.  Which is quite a fun game.  Since we arrived late, and had to leave early (oh the woes of being a parent), we only got to dance to one dance, which was the tetris one.  And then we finished the evening off watching Howl's Moving Castle.  It is one of my favorite Hayao Mizaki movies, but it is 2 hours long.  So plan accordingly.  Kyle and I were nearly passing out at the end we were so tired (probably not the best idea to start at 11pm).

This was only our second Halloween together, we spent the first one being bums as I was nearly 8 months pregnant.  Not only that, but the next day I started my first big girl job.  That's right, Liz Joiner has been working at her big girl job for a year now.

Saturday:
Saturday is the one day where I get to see how it feels for Kyle when I leave to go to work in the morning because he works in the morning on Saturday.  He always takes his shower, comes back to the bed to kiss me on the head, or to cuddle with me for a few moments before leaving.  Depending on little miss, we may or may not get up and say good bye to daddy before having breakfast.  Although she was up kind of late last night, so she slept in.

When I woke up, it was chilly.  No, not for you northerners you, but for us southerners, it was cooler than usual, I loved it, but it meant Sophie was an ice cube this morning, so we had to add a sweater on top of her long sleeve t-shirt and some socks.  This was the result to bundling her up.  rocking the sweater, giraffe printed socks on one foot, and pants.

It's been a task to catch Sophie walking by herself at all, but we're getting more and more glimpses of her taking steps unassisted.  She's been taking a few steps here and there, but for the most part, she would rather use the play yard wall or just fall down and crawl.  But occasionally we'll get a video of her taking that first step by herself.  She's almost 10 months old, which is when it's said a lot of girls start walking by that age. We'll see, no pressure, Sophie, no really, we're not ready.

After Kyle got home we watched some bones together while Sophie was napping, ate some jambalaya and called it a night.  Old ass farts.

Sunday:

We were supposed to actually do a good bit of errands.  Ha, that didn't happen.  Instead I got a good run in, and then Kyle made brunch.

Delicious!  Eggs and hash browns!  This man treats me so well.  A friend stopped by to pick some lemons and meet Sophie as well.  After that meet and greet it was time for Sophie and mommy to take a nap.  which was nice for Kyle since he got some game time in.  We ended up sleeping 3 hours (whoops).  After that, we got up, and did some errands especially shop for Sophie food!  and then Kyle made the most awesome meal for dinner.  It was a variant of John Legend's baked mac n cheese .   Kyle didn't have all of the cheese on hand, so we used velveeta and pepper jack.  It still came out wonderfully.  I have to say, I was lucky to find someone who not only can cook well, but actually really likes to cook.

I wish I could say we had a more exciting weekend, but we really didn't.  After a long, busy week, I didn't want to get too crazy.

Happy November everyone!
