This time, I'd like to share the story of us with a twist. Kyle and I both answered the same set of questions without seeing each other's answers until this post today. Let's just say, on some things we clearly remember it differently.
when did you meet?
K: The wife will tell you a little over 2 1/2 years ago, however, it was at least four years ago.
L: February 2013, I honestly do not remember the first meeting. I only remember because Kyle's had to tell me a billion times. Kyle insists we met the first day I started, but I remember only talking to him in March.
how did you meet?
K: She came up to the control desk to get a new pair of bowling shoes and had to come back a few times to find the perfect pair.
L: when I first started working at his job. He introduced himself to me. Kyle says that he introduced himself the first day I started working, but I don't remember this...
Side story: Kyle knew who I was before I started working because we had met before , but I still don't remember meeting him until I started working at his job. Kyle says he remembered me because I had a memorable face.
K: She was a cute out-going funny girl
L: Incredibly tall, no really, Kyle's over 6 feet tall. He was also nice, he was the first one to talk to me and be helpful.
K: With the help of friends and coworkers, I managed to get her on a date to break out of her introverted shell
L: We went to a bar. It was very impromptu. Since we worked together, we hung out with the same crowd at work. One evening I came back to go bowling with some friends after completely chickening out on asking Kyle for his number, and I only went back to see him again (because that's not creepy). My friend who I met through work invited me to go with the other co-workers to a local bar. And the rest is history.
K: I don't remember our specific song but it wouldn't surprise me if it was some Taylor Swift song, that's all she plays. Some guy who looks like James Dean with his hair slicked back in a white t-shirt or something along those lines.
L: Collide by Howie Day, because our lives collided one day. I can't remember how we picked the song, but it was the meaning behind it. I think it came on from the shuffle on my itunes.
first event you went together to?
K: her college graduation, the one I had to wake up before dawn to be at, let's just say we spent that evening passed out sleeping
L: We went to his cousin's wedding in GA, where I got to meet his two brothers for the first time. It was great.
K: before I ever even got her to come out with me
L: April 2013 :)
K: I did of course
L: I did, we had just finished watching pitch perfect .
when did you move in together?
K: about 6 months in I officially moved in
L: About 4 months after we started dating, it was August
K: working all evening, hanging out watching movies till the wee hours and cuddling till noon :)
L: I didn't have a job for the first few months, so I basically just spent all day with him and then spent all evening waiting for him to come home and then we watched movies until one or both of us passed out. I loved that time, but was really glad when I finally got a full time job.
K: when it comes to specific personal cleanliness I am, if you mean who cleans the house more? she does
L: At one time it was me, the house was never messy ever. And then Kyle moved in, and then a baby came along. But for the most part I still think I am, we'll just ignore the piles of clean clothes I leave around.
K: on Easter Sunday 2014 at about 2am, I wanted to wait till later in the day but I couldn't keep her in suspense
L: April 20th, 2014, Easter.
how did it happen?
K: we were lying in bed talking and she expressed her worries about me never asking her to be my wife, so i scraped my plans for later that day and popped the question right there, no ring, no fancy dinner, just the two of us in the bed in the dark.
L: I got worried he didn't want to marry me because whenever anyone would ask him, he wouldn't answer and bring up another subject, so then I got worried he didn't want to marry me and felt forced into marrying me. We had finished watching the Croods and I told him that I thought he didn't want to marry me and how I was worried everyone was pressuring him into something he didn't want to do, and he then told me he loved me with everything he had and asked me to marry him.*
The full version is here.
K: a little over a year
L: Just over a year and a month
K: married life is awesome, knowing that the person you love is waiting at home for you, or that they are eagerly counting the minutes till they can leave work
L: I almost feel like our married life didn't change from when we lived together when dating. I love spending time with Kyle, staying up late watching netflix, and going around being like yes, I'm Mrs. Joiner, but it's also kind of how I lived before we got married too :)
K: never having any underwear cause she steals it all to wear around the house
L: Having someone to annoy for the rest of my life :)
K: the birth of our child takes a small lead over the day she agreed to be my wife
L: that's tough, there are so many....probably the day I fell in love with him, because it was then I knew I wanted him to be in my life as not only a husband, but a father as well
K: nope, not a thing
L: Sometimes I wish we could have met sooner. I know we have the rest of our lives together, but some days it doesn't seem like enough, I know that probably doesn't make any sense.

We both had a lot of fun answering the questions, okay I had fun answering the questions and then reading Kyle's responses to the questions. it is incredibly surprising some of the things I remembered so clearly and he didn't and the things he remembered so clearly and I obviously didn't. Such as my college graduation...forgot about that one oops. All in all, it was great to see both sides of a story.
You guys are so cute! Loved reading your story. :)

Reply DeleteVeronika | Tickled Pink Confetti.
Thank you for visiting Veronica! i found it hilarious that we had such different answers on a few of the posts. Have a great Fourth!
DeleteThis is such a great idea! I would love to hear what Nick remembers from the beginning of our relationship... probably not anything close to how it all actually went down, ha!
Reply DeleteAw, such a sweet story. It seems like you two have a really great, fun and easygoing relationship. Keep it that way!! lol. It's funny how memories work - my husband and I always seem to have varying versions of past events. Usually it's something slight, but it's interesting that we remember things based on our own perspective of what's going on. So actually, both versions are probably a bit off :)
Reply DeleteAwww, this is so sweet.
Reply DeleteIsn't it funny how each of us remember certain details in things?
Thanks for sharing (and for linking up to the #SHINEbloghop).
Wishing you a lovely weekend.
xoxo
Cute. I'll have to play this game with my husband.
