It is bad that almost all of Sophie's meals are now in her stroller? Does that mean we're bad parents? Probably so. #parentingfail
One day she won't be eating in her stroller, cause she'll eventually be too large...
It's not that we meant to feed her there, it just kind of became habit. Remember all those posts about walking? I really got started in late May and have been going strong since. One of the ways I got as many steps as I did was by walking with Sophie on the weekends. I didn't
We'd go early morning (and she'd eat her breakfast there) and then late evening with Kyle (and she'd eat her dinner there). It was mainly for convenience. But for the most part she was still fed in her highchair, especially during the weekdays with Kyle. Occasionally we'd walk on Monday and she'd eat dinner in her stroller, but we were still trying to maintain that the highchair was for meals, the stroller was for walking and snacks (despite the fact that I had already broken the rule by feeding her some meals in there).
Sophie always throws her floor on the ground whenever she's full or wants to play around instead of eating when she's sitting in her highchair, but it started to become more frequent when we started using the stroller. We just didn't put two and two together until one day Sophie walked over to her stroller and said "mama?" Kyle guessed she just wanted to go on a stroller ride and didn't think anything of it until she actually climbed into the stroller and smacked her hands on the tray, just like she ate in the highchair.
That was the first day Kyle fed her in the stroller for lunch.
He tried in vain to get her to eat in her highchair everyday after that, but she refused to focus on eating, and would play with her food instead of eating. The moment he'd take her out of the highchair and put her back on the ground she'd run over to the stroller and climb into waiting for her meal. So he'd pick up her food and put in her stroller tray and guess who ate lunch?
It got to the point where on weekdays, she'll go over to her stroller for breakfast well. She refuses to eat anywhere else but her stroller for all of her meals. And that is why our child eats in her stroller.

Reply DeleteOh, the joy of little people! They are so creative and unique!
Reply DeleteI think stroller eating is great. You can walk while she eats. Or, you can pull the stroller up to the table - no big deal!
One of my friends had a child who loved to sleep in her indoor swing. The doctor told her to just let the kid sleep there. This season would pass!
I'm sure something more interesting will catch her attention in a few weeks, and she will get tired of eating in that stroller!
Came over on the Much Ado about Monday Party. Glad to visit your site.
Hope you have a great Monday~
Blessings,
Melanie
I hope eventually we can get her back in her high chair, it's a lot nicer for her to have a sit down meal than rolling around in her stroller. The stroller sits much lower than table so we're always looking down at her. Is your friend's child still sleeping in her swing? Or has she moved to bigger and better things? (a bed maybe?). Hope you have a great fourth!!

Sorry you guys aren't feeling well *hugs*, and I love the idea of meals on the stroller. That's great for when you're out and about that she'll be used to eating that way :)
Reply DeleteHey, there's nothing wrong with eating in a stroller!! Easy for you!

Oh my cuteness. And here I just introduced puréed food to my little Sophie a few weeks back, and my foodie problem is when a food she finally grew on runs out, and we introduce a new blend. Gotta love kids and their eating habits
Reply DeleteWhatever works I say
Reply DeleteHope you guys are all feeling better now!
Reply DeleteSounds like she has a mind of her own. Don't worry; it's just a phase. Thanks for sharing at Merry Monday.
